Page Rank 2

It's been a while and I haven't really updated this blog for a very long time. Recently, I have been posting different topics just to keep this blog updated. I was surprised when I checked my Page Rank and it's still PR 2! Wow! I'm glad it didn't dropped and remained the same the last time I checked it. :) Anyways, I'll try to keep this blog updated... *crossing fingers* :D

My Take on Maintaining a Website

This blog has been inactive for months, if you have been visiting this blog of mine, I knew you have already noticed it. I have been blogging for more than a year and within months I have created numerous blog posts in different niches. I was excited and full of energy at first but there were times when I got nothing to write on my blogs.

I have more than 10 blogs and I can say, it's really hard to maintain all of it. I rarely got visitors after being lazy maintaining my blogs for months. Well, that's the price one should not just take for granted. Maintaining a website may be hard for some but there are ways and tips on what one should do to maintain their sites. An example would be setting up a schedule and performing weekly or monthly tasks. Make notes on what to write on that particular week on your planner or calendar so that you wouldn't forget it.

I used to write notes too before, I prepare what to write on the sports blog for this week and then chose another topic for a game and fashion blog. It may be hard thinking on what to write and sometimes a writer's block would occur. I have been in that situation often, I would just sit in front of the monitor and stare at it. Oftentimes, it's a daily problem that I have to deal with. What I do is take a rest and relax for a while, it would be hard if you keep on pushing yourself to write even you can't at the moment. Just take a break and after being relaxed, you'll have a fresh start again.

Good luck!

Simple Ways to Optimize Your Blogspot or Blogger Blogs

As we all know, blogger blogs are not optimized unless you optimize it. I have a Blogger account and my first blog is from Blogger but I didn’t know about SEO and how to optimize Blogger blogs. I’m not that geeky enough to understand those codes, hehehe… But then, I have found a few ways on how to Optimize your blog Templates on Blogger. By the way, I have already applied it on my blog just last week. So, for those who also want to optimize their blogs on Blogspot or Blogger, just follow these simple instructions below…

Login to your blogger account, and on the Layout, click Edit HTML, don’t forget to check the Expand the Widget Templates before applying these codes below.

Find this default Title Tag code

<data:blog.pageTitle/>

and change it to this code:

<b:if cond=’data:blog.pageType == "item"’>
<data:blog.pageName/> | <data:blog.title/>
<b:else/>
<data:blog.pageTitle/>
</b:if>

Next, add Meta Keywords and Description Tags just above or before <b:skin>/*

<b:if cond='data:blog.url == data:blog.homepageUrl'> </b:if>

Optimize your Blog Title's Heading. Most of the blogger templates uses H2 or H3 tags, so you have to change them, find these codes:

<b:if cond='data:post.title'>
<b:if cond='data:post.link'> <data:post.title/> <b:else/> <b:if cond='data:post.url'> <data:post.title/> <b:else/> <data:post.title/> </b:if> </b:if>
</b:if>

...and then change the one in red font color; h3 to h1. After that change the post title font size by adding this code before </b:skin>

h1.post-title, .post h1 #Blog1 h1, #Blog2 h1 { font-size:1.5em; }

…and that’s it! You’re finished and you now have an Optimized Blogger Template. By the way, if you want your site to rank high in the search engines, continue building links with high page ranks or Submit your Blogs to Directories with High Page Ranks.

My Blogs' Earnings for 2008

I was reading Gumer's (Techno Techniques) previous posts about his and her wife's blog earnings last 2008... It was an inspiring post for newbie bloggers who wanted to make money online too. Like him, I started to monetize my blog just last year around 6 months ago, although I have been blogging for a year already... Like any other blogger out there, I started my blog as my personal diary... and next, you know na... :)

Anyways, back to Gumer's post. As I was reading his post about his earnings, I got curious too on how much I have really earned for the past year out of blogging. I think I only got a hundred bucks for the past two to three months of doing paid post and after that it increased coz I was so determined to gain a hundred or more per month. So I did all the paid post I have won on the bid and those that are offered to me...

I have thought that the total amount of what I earned could just be around $300 already but when I sum it all up, I made $479.62 which is around P22,062.52 if I multiply it to P46... Most of my earnings are from paid post and a few are from the link ads on my blogs... Wow... I just wondered where could've all that money be now? hahahaha... I never had any savings! It could be just a few notch up to reaching the average amount for me to buy a laptop... Geez... I should have save it all... but then again, I have no other source of income and I just rely on my blog earnings and a few sideline jobs offered to me... I don't ask money from my mom or anyone... that's why I am doing this 'part time' (that's what I called and told them about this blogging thingy LOL). Well,I have needs and wants too, well, everyone does... hahaha... I guess I should stop being an impulsive shopper and stop spending too much... Hala, added na yan sa New Year's resolution dapat! Hahahaha...

Anyways, I just hope I won't slack off again this year 2009.. I had lose around $60 or more, worth of opportunities online... Hmm... guess I should be back on track again... What happened to you ba kasi miah.... I have four tasks now and I am so lazy to do even just one of it... Sometimes I just let some of my best buddies do those tasks for me hehehe... I dunno, I just don't have this 'urge' to write anymore, unlike before... hmmm.. need some motivation? I guess so...

A Bloggers Life

Blogging… I admit I am hooked up with this; it’s not just a hobby anymore. Who wouldn’t be, if you can make money out of it while enjoying… Out of what you like to do… Blogging is also my means of easing my anger, irritation, happiness, and all… I write what I feel… The computer is my best friend and the sole witness to all that had been happening in my life, well not really all but almost, since I write everything that comes to my mind. Blogging… Not all people understand what it’s all about or what it could do to someone… For me it’s already a part of my life… For three or four months of serious blogging I have come across different blogs too, made friends through them virtually. I talk more to those people a lot more than the ones around me… share my deepest thoughts and some not so deep ones… Created a bond that I know wouldn’t last that long but still tried to… It’s so hard to explain but it’s what makes me happy, I guess some bloggers out there would agree with me on this (crossing fingers, LOL).

I started my blog as a personal diary, though I just posted a few entries online because some of my thoughts are written in an old notebook of mine. But as you can see now, my blog (MeiYah’s thought’s, ideas, experiences, dreams, actions, roll into one…) has a lot of Ads on the sidebar, middle post and everywhere. Most of my entries are paid post. I don’t have any regrets or whatsoever that I am now monetizing this blog. I gain something from it though it’s not as much as the other Pro Bloggers out there are making but for me it is one thing that I never thought could’ve had happen.

My best friend and ex-boyfriend are the influences of this hobby… At first I just said: “Okay, I will make a blog”, but will just forget about it the day after. Signed up a Blog and forget about it, then months had passed and I never thought I had an empty blog running online with no post! LOL. Because I was busy with work back then… Months had been slipping away and I decided to quit from my job. Lots of reasons…

I started monetizing my blog when I had no more source of income… I don’t want to ask money from my family, I am too ashamed to ask… So I started to sign up to those paid to post sites and whatever paid to sites there is. A month had passed and I rarely had a task opportunity… I just had $12.00 which came from Smorty, for making 2 paid posts. That was the very first payment I receive online. I remember I was happy at the time I receive a message from Paypal about my very first funds. I never really thought that I could make money online just by writing. Before, I used to hear and see posts about making money online but I never believed it. But now, things change, I am now one of those people who are making money online by means of blogging. Never have I thought that I would be doing this, really. LOL. I am not a good writer, that’s what I always say to Rhon. Actually she’s the good one, I admire her writings and I am a fan of her blog, but that was before, she rarely had time to blog now. Thanks for introducing me to the blogging world!

I am making money online but it’s not that much… So I accepted some offers and tasks sent to my email and it somehow helped. I used to have zero tasks before but after a few months, my tasks are lining up (kapuliki lagi ko!). Some of the tasks had expired already (saying din). But thanks some of my sponsors, for giving those task opportunities. I am happy with what I received online… No one would give me a dime here for just sitting in front of the computer and write…

But Blogging is not just about earning money, I know... Still, a lot are signing up for a blog to earn money online and that the real essence of what blogging all about had been lost. Can't blame the others for thinking that way, I myself is one among the thousands out there who had been making money out of blogging. Well, it's your blog, as long as you never stepped on anyone's foot, as long as you enjoy what you're doing, there's nothing wrong with making money online. You can do whatever you wanted to do with your blogs, and they can say whatever they wanted to say but it's still you who will be making a choice. NO ONE can dictate you on what you would do, unless you let them.

What are you waiting for? Make Money or Advertise with Blogsvertise now!

My 2nd Mindanao Bloggers Summit Experience Part 1

Honestly, I really don’t know where to start (LOL)… Well, a lot of Mindanao bloggers already had their post about the event and I wasn’t able to post sooner because I was so tired from the four-hour trip going back to Davao, and when I woke up the next day I’ve been coughing already and I really don’t feel good (pero naka-online at plurk pa ha for a while hahaha… pasaway!).

The night before the event, I went to Ghenessa’s place and stayed for the night so we could go to the terminal together at dawn. We haven’t got much sleep because we’d been talking a lot. I think I had just slept for an hour or two. I was kidding her about my MBS2 pass being lost and when we were on the terminal waiting for Richel and Glester to arrive, I couldn’t find my pass! And I don’t know where could it be. Wahh! Ghenessa on the other hand, forgot to bring any of her ID’s (nag-uban ang mga tangent alpha, tsk3!) So, she texted Richel and asks if she could bring a copy of her passport or NBI clearance. It's a good thing Che has a copy of her passport in their home and she brought it with her, but my pass is still lost and couldn’t find it, I then thought that maybe I could just let them show my pass on the laptop instead? I was hoping it would work.

After a few minutes of waiting, the bus set off and so we try to get some sleep. The bus stopped at Digos City for a few minutes then there I saw a familiar figure and it was Kuya Henry. I first met him at WordCamp Davao and we share a common friend too, Fern, who wasn’t able to go to the summit. He was sitting at the front near the driver that’s why I didn’t see him.

I didn’t get much sleep on the bus because of the bumpy ride. We arrived at General Santos City at around 6:15 a.m. (I think). We ride a tricycle going to Family Country Hotel where the event would be held and where we would stay for the night. While I was getting ready on what things to bring on the summit I saw my MBS2 pass finally! It was just behind the laptop, LOL. After checking in, we went to the Convention Hall, and there we were greeted by Mr. Avel Manansala. A few bloggers are already there and I can see a few familiar faces. Had a quick conversation with Sir Avel and the others and of course picture2x (mawala pa ba na?).

After a while, the registration started which by the way sponsored by ACLC. I was typing a few details about myself when all of a sudden ‘nag-brown out!’ Toinkz! In a few minutes the electricity was back but in a short while, it hit again. Waahh!!! Buti na lang nasave ko na. it didn’t last that long naman, good thing it came back sooner and didn’t bother to disturb us again, hehehe…

The event’s theme was “Minadawon Paminawon Intawon: Blogging the Mindanao Consciousness”. It aims to encourage us about the Mindanao consciousness. Of how we, as bloggers will help to clean the image of Mindanao from other people’s view, especially the people from Luzon and outside the country as well, where ‘Danger’ is the word that I think would first come out of their minds whenever they hear the word Mindanao. My family and I became one of those people too when we became one of the victims of the tragic incident that had happened at the Davao Airport. But behind all those bombing incidents, we’re still here, after all, we were born and raised here. We still worry about it sometimes but we have to move on and for now, I guess we as Mindanao Bloggers will have to unite and start making Mindanao a place like any other in the country. Mindanao has a lot of potentials especially on the agricultural side and aside from being tagged as the Country’s Fruit basket, we had all the resources that have yet to be developed and maintained. A lot of beautiful places to tour around and some hidden paradises yet to be discovered. And that was what Pierre Galla of Filipno Voices tries to insinuate.

Voices from Mindanao heartroots by Walter Balane of Istambay sa Mindanao and Hector Miñoza of MinadanaoKini share their insights about Mindanao consciousness too. There was an open Forum and bloggers exchange ideas and asked questions to the speakers.

After those speeches, Lunch was served. I was really sleepy after eating (nyahhaha… murag sawa.). Well, I guess I'm not the only one who feels that way, I knew a lot of the bloggers are kinda sleepy too (Agree? Agree na lang mo, LOL). Our MBS2 passes were collected earlier for the raffle and my name was one of the lucky ones to be picked, I WON a ‘Blogging from Home’ book by Janette Toral, thanks for sponsoring the event by the way.

Aileen Apolo of Google Philippines shares some blogging tips and Google goodies for us. I didn’t know na ka-plurk ko pala siya (towengwengweng! Nalaman ko nalang when I reached Davao na). Ria Jose who has more than ten blogs talks about Blogging the Entrepreneurial Way of Life. The next speaker is Bobby Timonera, a photojournalist who is now Photoblogging images of Mindanao. I really admire his works, I was amazed when I looked at his photos and all I could say is ‘Wow’, see his works at The Land of Promise if you want to see the Beauty of Mindanao.

Shout-outs for bloggers of the different niches were there to speak about their blogs. Dr Bone MD from Sultan Kudarat and an Outdoor Lifestyle Blogger. A Tech Blogger, from Davao Migs Hipolito. Mikko Gozalo a Student Blogger from Gensan. Food Blogger, Blogie Robillo, a Food Blogger, whose blog was awarded as one of the Top Ten Influential Blogs of 2008. Avel Manansala, a Place Blogger. Lyle Santos, a blogger from Davao shares his Google Adsense tips with us.

Then the 1st Summit Resolution was being presented. We were given a break and next is the Sashimi Night Cocktails by the General Santos City Tourism Association. It was my first time eating Sashimi and it was good. hehehe… City Mayor Jun Acharon came and joined us. Food trip… Picture taking… Getting to know the other bloggers…

I have finally met my fellow bisdakplanet friends Elaine (in pink) and Rosilee (in red) who were from GenSan.

Next is the Fellowship Dinner tendered by the Hon. Cong. Darlene Anotonio-Custodio, Thank You to all the Sponsors who had contributed to making the summit a successful one. Dinners are served when the Teatrong Ambahanon shocked us all with their R18 show (LOL)… A lot of bloggers paused for a while to watch the show and took some videos and photos. It was a great show by the way, kinda unique but great. Then there’s a live band and the bloggers sing along and dance with them till they give up, hahahaha…

This event wouldn’t be possible without the sponsors, and I would like to say 'Thank You so much especially to the staff of Family Country Hotel for returning my necklace to me, which I accidentally left in our room when we checked out.

Photos of the event can be found here on My Web Album: 2nd Mindanao Blogging Summit.

Whew! Thanks for reading my super duper long post… Abangan may Part 2 pa! Nyay! LOL.

I am joining the 2nd Mindanao Bloggers Summit!

”2nd

Yeah! I am joining the 2nd Mindanao Bloggers Summit which will be held at General Santos City. I haven't got the chance to join the 1st Mindanao Bloggers Summit because I was hesitant to join since I was just new into blogging at that time. I rarely knew anyone in the Blogosphere. But now, I don't want to miss this chance anymore. I invited one of my best friend who is new to blogging to come and join this wonderful event. It will be a great opportunity for her to meet our fellow Mindanao bloggers out there. I've been to General Santos once and it is a 3 hours ride from Davao City, I got this 'biyahilo' sickness in me and I really get dizzy when travelling, worst I would throw up! Even if I take a medicine I would still feel dizzy but that doesn't stop me from travelling. :D

Anyways, back to the Summit, anyone can register and join this event for FREE! Ain't it great? The MBS2 will be held at the Family Country Hotel and Convention Center at the Tuna Capital of the Philippines, General Santos City on October 25-26, 2008.

ChaDik (Chat Addict)

I'm addicted to chatting even before pa. My first was on MIRC where I go for the nick TeDyBaBeS hehehe... then changed to AuDrEy and later on DaNnIcA_nIcOle and then insoMIAH. Lately, I've been switching the last two nicks whenever I go online there which is so seldom na lang.

I was pissed off the last time I logged there. Well, there's this one chatter who wants me to view a certain website, I just can't seem to recall if it's infoslash[dot]net Well, I don't want to check it out (:p). She said it's a MUST SEE site so I said okay since it is a must see, I told her Okay I'll view the site if you'll view mine too. (Murag blog kay x-links) and so I typed my blog link and then I started to click on the site she mentioned. I was blogging at that time too and was making a post. I am still busy typing for that post when all of a sudden my Firefox window was restored down and moved upper right then lower left, in the middle and so on. I was alarmed because I thought it was virus or something. I tried to close it but I can't, there's a pop-up message saying something and I don't like what I was seeing. Uurrgghh! It was funny for others maybe but for me, I didn't like it and I was more focus on typing for my post. But my browser was on tab and so I have no choice but to press CTRL + ALT + DEL for it to stop dancing on my monitor. My sister and cousin was just nearby and I don't want them to think that I'm up to something or that's what I've been busy doing in the Internet. Arrghh! I haven't saved my post yet and that's what irritates me because I have to re-type it again. And I don't know how to start my post again! Waahhh! Kainis! I ignored that someone and I was banned on channel #davao for saying bad things about the one who sent me the link. Then I told the other chatters not to believe on the link he's giving on chat rooms. Well, that serves as a lesson for me, not to trust immediately to someone I don't know. But then I was already used to clicking links here on blog especially to the ones who are leaving messages on my shout box that I forget it's not the same thing on chat rooms. Well, so far no one leaves nasty links on my shout box ever since, and I want to thank you all for that. And lastly ila-ilaha gyud si CTRL + S just in case. Hehehe...

HAPPY BLOGVERSARY TO ME!

Yeah, yeah! And today is my Blogversary! Whew! One year of blogging, what a waste! nyahahaha.. just kidding... I started blogging at my Friendster blog a few years back but haven't really updated it much. Why? I was so busy with my academic and non-academic activities at school and I was busy too when I had my first job. I had a blog at Livejournal next to my Friendster blog, which I haven't updated for the longest time. Then, my best friend Rhon was so into blogging and told me to have one here at blogger. I was hesitant at first, then _ keep on telling me to have one too at Blogsome which I'd forgotten that I have already signed up there and forgot about it afterward. I just knew about it a few months ago when I was deleting some of my emails, LOL.

Well, after a few visits to Rhon's blog, I decided to have one too and so this blog was created last August 04, 2007. And I made my very first post on that day which is "Food for Thought." I was still busy with work at that time so I rarely had a post for months. I only have a few readers and commenters, until I joined a blogging community called Bisdak Planet. There, I was able to meet and interact with the other Bisdak members. :) Thank you sa inyong tanan, sa mga pakatawa, ug mga tabang katong newbie pa ko. Salamat! Then, I resigned from my job and was bored that I started to blog again... and that's the start of my addiction to blogging... hehehe...

Anyways, I told everyone that I will mention the winner of my contest on my Blogversary but before that, I wanted to say Thank You to all the participants. There ar
e only two people who got the right answer, Fernand of feRn's Backyard and Neill of Chess Addict. Unfortunately, Neill doesn't have an entrecard so that means our winner is none other than my very good friend Fernand Salinas! hehehehe... Congrats Fern! I will transfer the 1,000 Entrecredits to you now... :)

Happy Blogging everyone! Many Thanks to the following participants:

Just got Lucky

I receive a mail from Google AdSense Support today. I never thought that they would really send this to me, not after waiting for it for weeks. Well, I finally had the PIN and so I log on to my Google AdSense account and enter it. Thankfully, my account is active again after being on hold. Well, the question now is: 'Will I ever reach their minimum pay-out?' I guess it would take me years before acquiring that amount. *lol*

And tonight, I receive an email stating...
hi miah,
i saw ur email address in the davaobloggers.com database, were u trying to get a FREE Blog? if you did, i think you press the wrong button and "subscribed" to the davaobloggers.com rather than created a blog.

i assumed that is the case so i made a blog for u.

...and then I said to myself: 'Wow!' and then pause for a while... thinking... 'Nyay! bag-ong blog napud? Hastang daghana na nakong blog, unsaon na nako ni pag atiman sa tanan? Unsa napud akoang i-post didto? nyahhahaha...' (Nyay! Another new blog? I already have a lot of blogs, how will I ever maintain it all? What will I post there?). This one is my Personal Blog, I have two PhotoBlogs, another two na standby lang na blog *lol*
Hhmmm.... Can anyone suggest anything? I still don't know what to do with that blog.
Anyways, Thanks Red! By the way, I just met him at the Davao Bloggers Party last June 14... hhhmmm... I like my blog address hehehe... It clearly shows that I am a from Davao (I'm Proud to be one). *big smiles*

Davao Bloggers Party 2008

I've found out that there will be a Davao Bloggers Party on Cathara's site. Hhhmm... A part of me wants to go but I feel so shy because I rarely go to parties like this one and I am just new to blogging. I registered an hour before the party when I chance upon Ria's blog... (nakihabol pa lolz...) I wanna meet the faces behind those blogs I hopped on to and so I asked my friend Jane if she wanted to come with me coz I am too shy to go alone hehehe... I'm glad she said yes...

The party was held last Saturday, June 14 at Toto's Bar, Casa Leticia, along J. Camus st., Davao City. I meet Jane at the People's Park, and the two of us are now ready to party? nahhh... We're both shy and a little nervous going there... but I guess it's time to be away from our computers once in a while and get our butts out to the real world.

We were late but the party haven't started yet and they're still waiting for the others to arrive. The place was cool and cozy, there were already a few people around when we arrived. I was looking for faces that are familiar to me but can't find one. Ria, Migs and Blogie welcomed us and they were friendly as well as the other bloggers, though I haven't got the chance to really mingle with some of them, I found them nice to be with. Jane had to go outside and she just come back after the party has ended... waaahhh... She left me alone there, I was having second thoughts on going out too, but I don't want to look like I'm not interested or something when I really do. Well, I decided to stay though I felt like melting there... lolz... I really wanted to roam around and take pictures but was really shy to do so...

The party was great and everyone had fun, Migs' a good emcee. The food were all great and the prizes too! I really didn't expect that I would win something hehehehe... Cute noh? Actually, I am using it now.... Way too cool! Thanks for this pretty cool keyboard, I really love it...

I Hope I can still join if there will be another gathering like this... and I just hope that next time i would have the guts to roam around and talk to others. hehehe... 'til then... =)

Mobile Blogging

Yesterday, I was browsing some sites on my mobile phone, taking photos and tried to edit some of it... I was testing out my new phone and then I discovered something really cool. I tried to send my photo via bluetooth when I saw there are other options on the side bar like:
SEND As picture msg, As email, To blog, Via Bluetooth and Via infrared.

I was curious on the third one, Send To BLOG? Hmm... curious of it so I tried pressing the button and saw the Blogger's icon (I'm now having an idea on what is it hahaha) and so I tried give the picture a Title and Description. My first mobile blog post was 'Naning Gavin', and right after it was published, I received a text message from blogger.
It says: To edit your blog, use your computer to go to this page: http://go.blogger.com
Claim token (type of password): 5*****
Blog address: http:coxeel377.blogspot.com

Wow! I thought I have a new blogger account again? waaahh... I tried browsing the site on my phone and there I entered the Claim token and voila! I saw my new Mobile Blog... I was thinking, I have another blog to maintain again.. waaahh... have lots of blog already... hahahaha...

But I have found out that if I have already an account at blogger I can merged my Mobile Blog from the current blog I am using... Wow! COOL right? I can easily post a blog directly on the internet with my mobile phone... Cool, isn't it? And by the way it is FREE, blogger doesn't charge you any cents per blog post. Now that's way too COOL again! hahahaha... But they've said that your operator might charge you for the data traffic, but as for me, CTM, which is my mobile network provider here in Macau, offers FREE Wap browsing. I am so loving this! *big grin* Now I don't have to go to the internet cafe to blog, I can just do so with a few clicks from my phone. How amazing that can be? *lol* I could be more addicted to blogging now that I've found this hahahaha...

If you're mobile phone's carrier is Sony Ericsson (like me), you're now ready for MOBILE BLOGGING because Blogger Mobile is built into some Sony Ericsson camera phones, so you can post to your blog with just a few clicks.. If not? you can still do so. You can send text or photos from your mobile device to go@blogger.com they'll be automatically posted to your new blog. They'll reply with the address of your new mobile blog, plus a claim code for verification. Make a post to your new mobile blog, or use the claim code to link your phone to a different blog. And now you're welcome to Mobile Blogging! *grin*

For iPhone users, Phones without MMS can still post to Blogger via email with Mail2Blogger.

It's so COOL!!! hehehe... I am so lovin' this!
