Childhood Memories
'You're so bad man pala when you were still young' mao'y ingon sa akoang pag-umangkon. Maski ako makaingon bad man gyud to akoang gibuhat pero ambot lagi murag nikalit lang man ug sulod to na ideya sa akoang ulo...
Ingon pud akoang crush: lalaki man na! waaahhhahahaha....

Taekwondo Best Knockouts
Galing noh? Halos puro 'Turning Long' ang mga finale kick...I can still remember when I had my first and last tournament in Taekwondo... The 3rd Mindanao Taekwondo Championship was held at SM City Davao Entertainment Plaza. I was still in college at that time when the AMA Club Taekwondo joined the said event and a lot of participants from all over Mindanao were there too... I've practiced so hard for that event but when the time comes for me to fight it seems that my feet can't move and am shaking (waahhh...) I was really nervous because my opponent was a brown belter and I was just a yellow belter, next to white belt...Pangit lang ang picture hehehe madilim kasi pasensya na... Well, I lose the fight but it was a great fight, a great experience, the score was 2-1, not bad right? Atleast hindi ako na knockout... hahaha...

SUPER-FLU BREAK-OUT!
Alert over Hong Kong 'super-flu'
The culprit may be an influenza virusHealth officials have issued a global warning about a virulent flu and pneumonia that has swept through hospitals in Hong Kong and Vietnam.
One man has died, dozens of hospital workers have fallen ill, and some of these are reportedly in a critical condition.
The precise origin of the infection is still unknown, but the key case involved an American businessman who died on Thursday morning in a Hong Kong hospital.
He had arrived into Hanoi in Vietnam from Shanghai on a business trip already suffering from severe respiratory problems.
When his condition deteriorated, he was transferred to Hong Kong for specialist care.
World Health Organisation experts are concerned that he may have passed the infection on to many others on the way.
It has issued a "global alert" warning public health surveillance teams throughout the world to be vigilant for outbreaks.
"Any time you cannot diagnose the cause of a disease, it's very serious," said the World Health Organisation's David Heyman.
"What's fortunate is that at present it seems to be confined to hospital workers who have had contact with the patients; although now we're looking to see if people might be sick in the community."Rapid spread
After the US patient's admission in Hanoi, 20 hospital staff fell ill with the same infection, and so far 50 staff in Hong Kong have shown similar flu-like symptoms and some have been admitted to hospital.
Of these, 23 are already showing clear signs of pneumonia. The condition of some of these is described as "critical".
None of the staff are known to have had any direct contact with the American - so no direct link with either his death, or the Hanoi outbreak, can be established.
Singapore's Ministry of Health says it is also closely monitoring three people admitted to hospital with an unusual form of pneumonia, all of whom had recently visited Hong Kong.
Bird-flu ruled out
Concerns over the highly-contagious illness have prompted many staff and patients attending hospitals in Hong Kong to wear surgical masks.
Source: BBC NEWS
The signs and symptoms of the disease in Hanoi include initial flu-like illness, with rapid onset of high fever followed by muscle aches, headache and sore throat.
In some, but not all cases, this is followed by double pneumonia - with some patients needing help from a ventilator to stay alive.
Hong Kong Health Minister Yeoh Eng-kiong said that testing was being carried out to try to identify the strain of virus involved.
Tests have so far revealed that it is a "B" strain version of flu.
He said: "The rate of infection is very high.
"At first it's a respiratory illness and it deteriorates into pneumonia.
"There is a possibility it can mutate or it may be a virus that is known to us."
But Hong Kong Government officials said the illness was not related to a strain of "bird-flu" that killed a man in February. It is possible the outbreak is linked to a spate of "atypical pneumonia" cases in the southern Guangdong province of China in February, which killed five people and infected hundreds more. For precautionary measures, all Classes were suspended. The student's Easter holiday was not until next week but due to this Super-Flu break-out they had their holiday early for two weeks... My niece and her yaya were at the bus stop early this morning, waiting for the bus but it didn't arrive and there's a teacher who told them that theres no class because of the flu break-out... Hhmmm... It's a serious illness, we should wear our masks whenever and wherever we go out for our protection...

Happy Morning means Happy Day
Woke up early today at 6:30 but still sleepy so I stayed in the bed for a while. I was planning to take a jog so I stand up and get ready... Drink a glass of hot chocolate and I'm off to the park... The sun was up already but still hiding in the clouds, winter's almost over but it's still cool outside.
There's a park and playground near our flat and it's just a walk away... The park was up on a high hill, have to go up the stairs, I've been there a few times already together with my sister and nieces. When I arrived there are lots of people around, a lot of Elderly were there jogging, stretching, exercising, and some were doing their 'Kata' or 'Taeguek', I remember my Taekwondo lessons when I saw them doing those forms, too bad I forgot na how to do it since I don't practice Taekwondo for quite some time. I was amaze to see all of them and I enjoyed watching them while I was stretching on the corner. I saw a man on the other side practicing with his sword in different forms too... After that I go and jog around, the place was really cool and it was my first time to jog here *lol*. You can stretch on the bars located on the sides and do some sit-ups there with a sit-up tool located in front of the slides... Do some sit-ups and then practice my kicks *nyahahaha* dili pud ko paulahi nila oi kay sila nag kata man, wala bitaw sila kaila nako.
Felt thirsty, I forgot to bring some water so I headed home, I saw some people on the court exercising and doing their kata's too, so I decided to pass by... I saw an old man playing basketball, I think he's into his late 60's, just a guess... When I pass near him his ball went to me and so I gave it back to him (bola sa basketball ha, para sa mga green minded diha nyahahaha...). I just stand there looking at him trying to make a shot but couldn't, I can see that he's tired already. When the ball came to me again, I gave it back to him but he gave it to me in an act that 'okay you can try' and so I did... He drink a bottle of water and stayed on the bench and rest... I on the other hand started shooting... It's been a long time since I last played basketball and I really had fun playing now, felt like a kid again *lol*. The man was walking around back and forth while drinking water, then he sit again and start fixing his things... So I made my last shot *swish!* and I gave back the ball to him and said 'She She', Thank you in Mandarin Language and he replied but I don't understand it na *lol*... After that I walked home sweating hhahaha...

Health Tips
Reduce, Don't Eliminate Certain Foods Most people eat for pleasure as well as nutrition. If your favorite foods are high in fat, salt or sugar, the key is moderating how much of these foods you eat and how often you eat them.
Identify major sources of these ingredients in your diet and make changes, if necessary. Adults who eat high-fat meats or whole-milk dairy products at every meal are probably eating too much fat. Use the Nutrition Facts panel on the food label to help balance your choices.
Choosing skim or low-fat dairy products and lean cuts of meat such as flank steak and beef round can reduce fat intake significantly.
If you love fried chicken, however, you don't have to give it up. Just eat it less often. When dining out, share it with a friend, ask for a take-home bag or a smaller portion.
I've been eating a lot of food (any kind wala'y pili) since I arrived here in Hong Kong, labi na'g chocolates, sus, pirti gyud! nyahahaha...

Death Anniversary
Today is the death anniversary of my father who was killed in a bomb accident at the Davao International Airport last 2003 (may his soul rest in peace). He was dead on the spot when bis body was brought to the Davao Medical Center (DMC), When I heard the news my bestfriend Cai and me hurriedly went to DMC and I saw my aunt and siblings outside... I thank God that they were safe, I'm praying that my PapaLolo, MamaLola, and my Mama Inday are safe too... They were at the Davao Doctors Hospital (Mama inday & Lola) and so we went there, it was then that I heard one of our relative said that Lolo's ----... and I don't want to believe her, I keep on praying and my mind's telling me 'NO! this can't be happening...' I call at home and ask our maid if he was there in the house but our maid said no, he wasn't... and a few minutes after that I hear him loud and clear shouting my name... 'Che!' and I quickly turned around my left side but I saw nothing, I asked my sister who's sitting beside me if she heard someone call my name, but she said she didn't... I know it was him, I recognize his voice, but I can't see him... I really don't know what to do and what I was feeling at that moment... then I knew what happened to him yet I still don't want to accept the fact... Was absent for days at school... I was thankful for our family friends and my bestfriends (Cai & Rhon) who were there to support and keep me and my family company during those days... I won't forget you for that, 'Thank You!'
Five years had passed and still the memory of the event still linger in my mind... I wish that the one's who were responsible for that incident would pay...
I miss you PapaLolo... I wasn't able to visit his grave since All Souls Day and before I leave Davao, butI know wherever he is right now he'll understand and my prayers will always be there for him...
Davao tightens security measures at DIA
Davao City (4 March) -- In consonance with the peace keeping effort of Davao City Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte, airport security groups remained alert and have tightened search activities and securities at the Davao International Airport to keep passengers and the people in general away from any harm.
Former Aviation Security Group (ASG) commander Supt Ramon Salvilla, currently consultant on peace and order, Office of the City Mayor said that efforts to curb terrorism were stepped up to avert any movements of "threat groups" adding that DIA pursues confidence-building measures and strong coordination among the ASG, Philippine National Police, and the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
Davao City, under the leadership of Mayor Duterte and Vice Mayor Inday Sara has consistently hammered out city's efforts in achieving peace in the city, Salvilla said.
With these peace efforts, we were able to strengthen the peace and citizen's participation in the process and develop strong coordination among other peace keeping entities, he said.
In answer to a query, Col Salvilla admitted that rigid searches and tight inspections are still needed as he called on air passengers to be understanding enough because this is also for their own protection and safety.
Regular inspection and checking of baggages, cargoes and luggages are still being conducted before passengers board the plane.
On top of the tight inspections, we have established a system to protect and secure vital airport installations, he said.
We also maintain mobile patrol teams and dispatch them within the airport's vicinity with security teams on standby at nearby stations, he said.
The ASG reiterated its call for boarding passengers to be on time before boarding so as not to disrupt searching activities.
Both checked-in and hand-carried luggages are being tightly inspected for security measures.
