Childhood Memories

'You're so bad man pala when you were still young' mao'y ingon sa akoang pag-umangkon. Maski ako makaingon bad man gyud to akoang gibuhat pero ambot lagi murag nikalit lang man ug sulod to na ideya sa akoang ulo...

Ingon pud akoang crush: lalaki man na! waaahhhahahaha....

Problem Solved

A while ago, my cutie li'l niece suddenly pressed some buttons on the keyboard of her dad's MacBook... We don't know how did she do it that the display on the screen is on Vertical position already... Kept on pressing different buttons but still can't fix it... Her dad left it on his flat and let me use it coz they were about to go. And so I tried to restart but to no avail it didn't work... I've tried searching on the control pannel but couldn't find the right solution.

I think you'd suffer from a stiff neck if you keep on reading and using the book and the screen's on vertical position, lol. So, I've asked some of my friends if they have any idea on how to fix it... A good friend of mine, Ghenessa, suggested something but still it didn't work out... I've tried searching on the internet but can't stay long reading it with my neck on the right side always...

This is how it looked like...

It was a good thing that one of my best friend Jane, was online and she did helped me out on my problem... and we did finally fix it (Actually siya ang naka-discover hehehe).

So, What did we do???

Press CTRL + ALT + UP ARROW... As simple as that... My niece is really makulit kasi, well atleast We've learned something from what happened and now I can see my monitor displays normally... =)

Taekwondo Best Knockouts

Galing noh? Halos puro 'Turning Long' ang mga finale kick...

I can still remember when I had my first and last tournament in Taekwondo... The 3rd Mindanao Taekwondo Championship was held at SM City Davao Entertainment Plaza. I was still in college at that time when the AMA Club Taekwondo joined the said event and a lot of participants from all over Mindanao were there too... I've practiced so hard for that event but when the time comes for me to fight it seems that my feet can't move and am shaking (waahhh...) I was really nervous because my opponent was a brown belter and I was just a yellow belter, next to white belt...

Happy Morning means Happy Day

Woke up early today at 6:30 but still sleepy so I stayed in the bed for a while. I was planning to take a jog so I stand up and get ready... Drink a glass of hot chocolate and I'm off to the park... The sun was up already but still hiding in the clouds, winter's almost over but it's still cool outside.

There's a park and playground near our flat and it's just a walk away... The park was up on a high hill, have to go up the stairs, I've been there a few times already together with my sister and nieces. When I arrived there are lots of people around, a lot of Elderly were there jogging, stretching, exercising, and some were doing their 'Kata' or 'Taeguek', I remember my Taekwondo lessons when I saw them doing those forms, too bad I forgot na how to do it since I don't practice Taekwondo for quite some time. I was amaze to see all of them and I enjoyed watching them while I was stretching on the corner. I saw a man on the other side practicing with his sword in different forms too... After that I go and jog around, the place was really cool and it was my first time to jog here *lol*. You can stretch on the bars located on the sides and do some sit-ups there with a sit-up tool located in front of the slides... Do some sit-ups and then practice my kicks *nyahahaha* dili pud ko paulahi nila oi kay sila nag kata man, wala bitaw sila kaila nako.

Felt thirsty, I forgot to bring some water so I headed home, I saw some people on the court exercising and doing their kata's too, so I decided to pass by... I saw an old man playing basketball, I think he's into his late 60's, just a guess... When I pass near him his ball went to me and so I gave it back to him (bola sa basketball ha, para sa mga green minded diha nyahahaha...). I just stand there looking at him trying to make a shot but couldn't, I can see that he's tired already. When the ball came to me again, I gave it back to him but he gave it to me in an act that 'okay you can try' and so I did... He drink a bottle of water and
stayed on the bench and rest... I on the other hand started shooting... It's been a long time since I last played basketball and I really had fun playing now, felt like a kid again *lol*. The man was walking around back and forth while drinking water, then he sit again and start fixing his things... So I made my last shot *swish!* and I gave back the ball to him and said 'She She', Thank you in Mandarin Language and he replied but I don't understand it na *lol*... After that I walked home sweating hhahaha...

True Freedom

"God created man rational so that he will seek God on his own."
This makes him responsible for his acts in as much as they are voluntary. True freedom is always in the service of what is good and just. The choice to disobey and to do evil is an abuse of freedom.

The Story of the Forgotten Jackets

My niece Kai was invited by Cynthia one of her bestfriend and classmate to her birthday party at their place... Her dad was at work in Macau and her mom had a flight to Delhi so they can't go with her and so the task was sent upon me... I gladly went with Kai (para maka-laag pud ko *smiling*). We met her friend at around 10:00 in the morning at Festival Walk in Kowloon Tong, it's very huge and one of the biggest mall here in Hong Kong. It has a lot of shops, restaurants and an ice skating rink, i think it is the largest one here and it has a direct access to buses, taxis, and the MTR Kwun Tong line and East Rail (mang-advertise ba daw ko noh? wala baya'y bayad ni... lol)

Well, enough of that, we met her friend there and her father who drive us to their place at Beacon Hill, which is just near the Festival Walk. Their place was nice and has a bigger space unlike the other flats that I've seen... hehehe... They were very accommodating and hospitable, the kids were playing while I just sit on their sofa and watched a movie that they played which is 'Norbit', watched this movie already but it's okay, the food was on the table so I just keep on eating and drinking while watching (baga kaayo ug nawong hahaha). The kids were playing games while grabbing some foods... At 1:00 in the afternoon we said goodbye to them as Kai has a tutorial lessons at Red Square at 2:00... Unfortunately they cannot accompany us to Festival Walk (yun ang usapan nila) so we just ride a taxi instead. When we arrived at the mall, Kai remembered that we have left our jackets there and too bad her Octopus was there too... Their maid get our jackets and hung it somewhere so we forget to bring it along. It's a good thing that my sister gave us a hundred bucks in case of emergency. It's a good thing that my Octopus was with me, we bought a mineral water so we could have coins to pay on the bus, my sister said that it would cost $6.00, but the coins that the lady gave to Kai was one $5 and $2, we go back and change it to two $1, the lady was nice and friendly... So we have enough coins now, we went out to the bus stop then and waited for Bus #2, but was dismayed when we saw the bus fare was $6.30 and we don't have any cents and I had just put my Octopus card in the bus card reader... The driver was talking in Cantonese and I don't understand what he says, coz after you enter to the door you have to pay first to the card reader or if you don't have one you can drop the exact amount of coins in box near this card reader...

Octopus Card Reader

There are many kinds of Octopus Card, like this one
for Adults,
for Children,
for the Elderly and
Personalized.

Mine is Personalized but it is a key chain type...

The Hong Kong Octopus card is a stored value card, which will win you access to all of Hong Kong’s public transport. Local ferries, trams, subway, buses and minibuses all accept the cards, you can even, with the KCR regional rail, travel to China with an Octopus.

Back to the issue, so we don;t have any cents to pay, the lady next to Kai asked us if what's the problem, so we asked her if she could change our $1 to cents but she just gave the coins and didn't accept our money... So kind of her naman di ba, and she is chinese pa hehehe... We say thank you and goodbye to her when we went out of the bus and reach our destination... It's nice to know that there are still good people in here who would lend a hand when you needed one even if you're not their kind... Coz most of the Chinese were discriminating Filipinos here... Now, I know that not all of them were like that... hehehe... Anyways, we enjoyed the experience, when we arrived at our flat we just laugh at what had happened to us that day.... =)

Death Anniversary

Today is the death anniversary of my father who was killed in a bomb accident at the Davao International Airport last 2003 (may his soul rest in peace). He was dead on the spot when bis body was brought to the Davao Medical Center (DMC), When I heard the news my bestfriend Cai and me hurriedly went to DMC and I saw my aunt and siblings outside... I thank God that they were safe, I'm praying that my PapaLolo, MamaLola, and my Mama Inday are safe too... They were at the Davao Doctors Hospital (Mama inday & Lola) and so we went there, it was then that I heard one of our relative said that Lolo's ----... and I don't want to believe her, I keep on praying and my mind's telling me 'NO! this can't be happening...' I call at home and ask our maid if he was there in the house but our maid said no, he wasn't... and a few minutes after that I hear him loud and clear shouting my name... 'Che!' and I quickly turned around my left side but I saw nothing, I asked my sister who's sitting beside me if she heard someone call my name, but she said she didn't... I know it was him, I recognize his voice, but I can't see him... I really don't know what to do and what I was feeling at that moment... then I knew what happened to him yet I still don't want to accept the fact... Was absent for days at school... I was thankful for our family friends and my bestfriends (Cai & Rhon) who were there to support and keep me and my family company during those days... I won't forget you for that, 'Thank You!'

Five years had passed and still the memory of the event still linger in my mind... I wish that the one's who were responsible for that incident would pay...

I miss you PapaLolo... I wasn't able to visit his grave since All Souls Day and before I leave Davao, butI know wherever he is right now he'll understand and my prayers will always be there for him...

Davao tightens security measures at DIA

By Rose B. Palacio

Davao City (4 March) -- In consonance with the peace keeping effort of Davao City Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte, airport security groups remained alert and have tightened search activities and securities at the Davao International Airport to keep passengers and the people in general away from any harm.

Former Aviation Security Group (ASG) commander Supt Ramon Salvilla, currently consultant on peace and order, Office of the City Mayor said that efforts to curb terrorism were stepped up to avert any movements of "threat groups" adding that DIA pursues confidence-building measures and strong coordination among the ASG, Philippine National Police, and the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

Davao City, under the leadership of Mayor Duterte and Vice Mayor Inday Sara has consistently hammered out city's efforts in achieving peace in the city, Salvilla said.

With these peace efforts, we were able to strengthen the peace and citizen's participation in the process and develop strong coordination among other peace keeping entities, he said.

In answer to a query, Col Salvilla admitted that rigid searches and tight inspections are still needed as he called on air passengers to be understanding enough because this is also for their own protection and safety.

Regular inspection and checking of baggages, cargoes and luggages are still being conducted before passengers board the plane.

On top of the tight inspections, we have established a system to protect and secure vital airport installations, he said.

We also maintain mobile patrol teams and dispatch them within the airport's vicinity with security teams on standby at nearby stations, he said.

The ASG reiterated its call for boarding passengers to be on time before boarding so as not to disrupt searching activities.

Both checked-in and hand-carried luggages are being tightly inspected for security measures.

All of these efforts are part of the Administration's order to keep the public away from harm and safeguard their lives and properties. (PIA) [Link]
