My Chess Buddy

I learn to play chess when I was 9 or 10 years old. No one taught me how to play it. I dunno why I enjoyed watching my cousins play it, I just watched them play and that's how I know how to play the game. My Uncle was my first opponent, I was still a noob then. He would always beat me with his mighty three moves (lol). But later on I figured out how to defend his attacks. But we didn't play that much back then and when we moved to my Aunt's place, I have no one to play chess with, so I play basketball, because there's a basketball court just near their house.

When I was in high school, my classmate and later on who became my friend, Bochoy, also likes to play chess and we would play during lunch breaks and recess time. She was good at it, I seldom beat her, hehehe... We tried to play during Intramurals and I was so happy to win my first tournament, hehehe... But we we're in just in 2nd place, next to the 4th year players. I think I had stopped playing or we had stopped playing chess when we were in 3rd year, been busy with academic stuff.

When I was in college, I met a few friends, but none of them played chess or even interested in that game. So, I play basketball again, hahaha... Then, I met Ghenessa, we were on the same team in the Eng'g. dept., for Baskeball Girls. We were teammates during Ithe ntramurals but we rarely talk, because I feel that she's so hard to approach but later on I found that she's okay nman pala and 'kalog' din like me. ;) When I tried to joined the chess tournament during our intramurals, she joined too and then she became my chess buddy at that time. Well, we won and we were on the same team and there was just one trophy, I really wanted to have it and Ghen wants to have it too... hahaha... We both signed at the bottom of it but still having a discussion on who will have the trophy (LOL). Anyways, I got it by the way... hahahaha... I told her that she already had lots of medals and trophies on her academic recognitions and I got none (hahahaha... pa-awa effect), I'm not genius like her... hehehe... Well, it was in those times that we were able to play chess together, when the intramural's over, she became busy again with school projects. Rhon knows how to plays chess too but she's not really into it and she had this thought that she would couldn't beat me. waahh... palusot...

Anyways, after I dunno how many years had passed, I was able to play chess again, with Ghen. Yey! Seryoso masyado xa oh... hehehe...

Well, we had a great night with Rhon and Fern... That would be the last night we would be seeing Rhon here in Davao, so we're making the best of our time together. We don't know when she's coming back again.... Hmm... That picture above is Ghen, my Chess Buddy... wehehehe... I'm not really that good at chess and I rarely play it nowadays...

Girl's Night Out

Meet Rhon at Charlie's in Damosa with her high school classmates. Haven't seen her for a while and I kind of miss her. This is our only chance to meet again because she will be leaving again the day after, yeah so sad. But we had fun there and by the way their pasta was really great, so yummy... their pizza though is just so so... but it was still good. :) I was shy at first because I don't know her high school friends but we did get along very well. They were fun to be with actually.

After dining we went to Al Fresco which is a few meters away from Charlie's and we had coffee there. Chit Chat, laugh, take photos and then laugh again hehehe. We had a great night.

I think she forgot she had some company, hmp, too busy talking to her ehem...

We went at Rhon's place afterwards so she can pick her bagpack because she will sleep at our place. They will be leaving at dawn going to Butuan and their office is just near our place, that's why. When we reach their home we were waiting for minutes and wondered what took her so long. The thing is she haven't packed her things yet, yeah! That's not new to me. anymore, hehehe...

We had a great night, not until we ride on to this certain taxi and the driver drove so fast that we almost had an accident. Thank God we didn't bumped into another vehicle. Whew! I wonder if he's really a the driver for that taxi because normally the taxi drivers had their big Identification Cards hunged up infront but he has no ID. We try to tell him to slow down, and he did... a little *lol*. Well, we arrived home safe and sound, Thank God! :)

I couldn't sleep that night, I think it' because of the coffee? I'm not really used to drink one hehehe... I was still up at around 5 or 6 a.m. Wahhh...

Well, Rhon's leaving and I'm sure gonna miss her company. She will be back again in town next month. Hopefully she can make it up on my birthday. :)

A Poem from You to Me

I've been fixing my things in my cabinet when I saw an old note. It was from a very DEER este DEAR friend of mine. It was a self-written poem she wrote for me, entitled 'FRIEND', sweet eh? It was written in year 2001, it's been so long since we've been friends, eight years already. We used to write little notes before or give each other cards when there is an occasion or even sweet nothings, just a little letter or note to inspire or cheer us up. But eventually as time pass by, there were no more cards, no more letters or little notes... Technology has made it's way to making things easier like sending text messages... but the messages from our cellphones will not stay that long, mine had been gone when my cellphone was reformatted and when my old sim got lost. These cards, letters and little notes will forever be alive, well if you'll take good care of it and put it in a safe place *winks*. hehehe... and forever it will be in my heart.

Okay, here's her poem for me:

FRIEND

I know sometimes
life is hard
and isn't always fair.

And sometimes friends
you thought were true,
suddenly don't care.

When words of anger,
hate and fear,
knock upon your door.

...and she was really there during my ups and downs... and even in my worst... hehehe...

This may not be the greatest poem ever written in the whole wide world but for me it is, as it was written from the bottom of her heart... Thank you Rhon, I miss your company already... Wish you could come back home again, hopefully this Kadayawan Festival... I love you best friend (Well, I've never called her that ever since but I consider her as one. hehehe!) =)

• Miah I could say na she has grown into a fine young lady although yong pagka childlike nya andon pa rin at least not childish d ba. he c miah as in grabe maka txt as in murag ala nay ugma pati pud magnet grabe magsend ug msg daghan kayo halos ma puno na ako inbox(exagge, he..) pero really miah is very thoughtful to her friends, she would definitely not forget to greet you kahit lahat na red sa calender e-greet ka nyan specially

• miah is some kind of a..... let me think ha... btaw, miah is a nice friend, she is a grown up now i think he... because she had proven 2 the world that she cud make a difference juz like she did at school, if u only knew. grabe sacrifices ang na agian nla but still they were standing and 2gether til the end. ang pagiging childish nya medyo lesser na lng, pro i blieve ma understand ra na nya ang diff. sa childish ug child like. dont for get to stop and think wat is really important in life. good luck is juz an expression of saying ill pray 4 u. i will always be here hope the same way w/ u.

• O ayan na!!! mg testi na jud ko sa IMOOOOOO!!! ana ni siya kana si miah... s una dakila kaayo na syang careless.. sige hatagi na ug butang... ipatago..hala dili na jud makit-an.. ambot na lang.. unya.. sus na lang... dakilang sayo kaayo para sa sunod na period.. mga 15 mins na lang ahuman na ang first. grabeeeeee pud kaayo na ug mga crushes.. as in... and we did something about it to her ultimate crush that she wont ever forget for the rest of her life...isn't it!!! BUT NOW.. all the miah we know has totally transformed into a woman.. mostly out of those thoughts we had in mind. hehehehehe... a truly wonderful indeed to have her as a friend. Amen

Journey with Friends

It's been a month and two weeks to be exact since I arrived back here in Davao. Now that I'm back, my best friend Rhon will be going six hours away from home, for six months. So sad we haven't really spent a lot of time bonding together. But I guess that's the way it should be, we have to move on no matter how painful the situation is. Well, I've thought, six months' not that long... Time flies so easily and six months have been over... hehehe... I'm sure gonna miss you Rhon... Those overnights here at home and at your place... those movie marathons... serious and funny talks... and not to mention the bloopers... hahahaha... missed those stuff already... wish you're here... and I missed teasing her, i used to do that even during college days, I don't know why, maybe because she's pikon? hahahaha...

One time we were on the bed and I think she's half awake and half asleep... I suddenly shouted 'Ipis! ipis!' (cockroach!) while trying to act as if I'm getting rid of the 'ipis kuno' on the blanket and pillows... Rhon hurriedly got up and run as fast as she can, away from the bed... and as for me? I just stand near the bed and laugh out loud... nyahahahaha... (bad kaayo noh?)

There's this one situation that makes me laugh out loud every time I remember it... As usual we had a movie marathon here at home. It was past twelve already and Rhon went out to get some bananas in the kitchen but before that, she went to the comfort room first. I on the other hand was trying to think of something that would scare her. So, I thought of hiding in one corner where she won't see me and would jump and scare her when she goes out of the c.r.. but then another idea suddenly popped up in my head and just the thought of it makes me laugh hehehe... I hid under our table and when she comes out of the c.r. she headed to the kitchen... I can see her feet drawing near the table and when she was so near, I suddenly put my hands up to grab a banana too... and Rhon freaked out... shouting as she moved backwards... hahahahaha... I can't stand not laughing under the table... and so I reveal myself to stop her from screaming but I was still laughing... hahahaha... If we just have a video recorder at home I could have recorded that and sent that to the Funniest Videos. I would really to see it on video... the time when she was about to grab a banana and then my hand suddenly grabs one too from under the table... lol...

...and when she eats a banana we would just looked at each other and laugh. Now you guys know why... =)

A day with Rhon...

It’s been a while since the last time Rhon and I saw each other, and yesterday we had that chance. We talked about anything and everything as if we never ran out of topics to talked to and Rhon's so bubbly but I enjoy listening to her... She's a vegetarian now, not that new to me but we just had beef steak over lunch (hahahaha... speaking of breaking the rules huh?). Anyways, we've talked for hours but there's still a lot of things to talk to... We headed to their house after eating and I met her brothers again, can't remember the last time I saw them too.. *lol* We used to hang-out at their house during college days together with our other friends, missed those times...

Felt sleepy so instead of rolling on the bed, I stood up and told her that we'd better watch a movie. 'How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days' the movie that she(Rhon) picked, it was a great movie where i did actually had a good laugh (Loud laughs actually.... nyahahaha...) we also watched 'Sweet Home Alabama', and it was a good movie too... I can somewhat relate to the first movie that we watched coz it brings back some memories, funny memories actually. We were still immature at that time and I dunno what else to describe us. Well, we have this crazy mission to make someone 'fall in love' with us and after a month of dating we'll ditch them (silly ayt? lol) and the nuber 1 rule is to not to fall for that someone (do you want to know who's idea was that?). But in the latter part, we didn't pursue it (hadlok ko makarma eh, hehehe...) Well, enough of that part, I really enjoyed watching movies with Rhon, we used to do movie marathon at our house, talk... eat... drink 'til dawn... I'm sure gonna miss that coz i'll be leaving Davao for a while, but I'll be back, just don't know when... Wish me luck...

Have a Break...

For a month and two days to be exact, I haven't had the chance to go around the city to relax and have some fun... and last night was one of the best days that ever happened in my entire stay here in Tagum City. Staff House – Office and vice versa was my daily routine for one month (sounds boring right?).

Venue: Gold City

We played table tennis and billiards together with my officemates (Wendy, Roy, Julian, Embong and Sir Jun)… For a while, I’ve forgotten all about work and just mind on winning the game… Unfortunately my opponent was really good and I lose the game but still I enjoyed it…

Next: Videoke on the GO!

Hahaha… I was a bit shy when they hand me the microphone to sing a song but then I thought that I was here to have fun, so why not go with the flow… the night ended up so fast and I still wanna go some where else and have fun but we have a lot of work for tomorrow… So we headed back to the staff house and rest… zzzzzz…. Sweet dreams…
