Just got Lucky
"Live life to the fullest"I receive a mail from Google AdSense Support today. I never thought that they would really send this to me, not after waiting for it for weeks. Well, I finally had the PIN and so I log on to my Google AdSense account and enter it. Thankfully, my account is active again after being on hold. Well, the question now is: 'Will I ever reach their minimum pay-out?' I guess it would take me years before acquiring that amount. *lol*And tonight, I receive an email stating...
hi miah,i saw ur email address in the davaobloggers.com database, were u trying to get a FREE Blog? if you did, i think you press the wrong button and "subscribed" to the davaobloggers.com rather than created a blog.
i assumed that is the case so i made a blog for u.blog address: http://miah.davaobloggers.comusername: miahpassword: *****should u need some assistance, dont hesitate to buzz me at my YM. my account name is hyperdrywelcome to the community! we hope you will enjoy your stay.cheers,Red...and then I said to myself: 'Wow!' and then pause for a while... thinking... 'Nyay! bag-ong blog napud? Hastang daghana na nakong blog, unsaon na nako ni pag atiman sa tanan? Unsa napud akoang i-post didto? nyahhahaha...' (Nyay! Another new blog? I already have a lot of blogs, how will I ever maintain it all? What will I post there?). This one is my Personal Blog, I have two PhotoBlogs, another two na standby lang na blog *lol*
Hhmmm.... Can anyone suggest anything? I still don't know what to do with that blog.
Anyways, Thanks Red! By the way, I just met him at the Davao Bloggers Party last June 14... hhhmmm... I like my blog address hehehe... It clearly shows that I am a from Davao (I'm Proud to be one). *big smiles*

A talk with Sister Dominique
Nun: Anong pangalan mo?
Me: Miah po... kayo?
Nun: Ah.. Sister Dominique.Taga san ka sa atin?
Me: Davao po...
Nun: Ah.. bisaya ka pala. Bisaya din ako.
...and then the conversation started to go on...
She asked me if i wanted to become a Nun... *lol* I was not ready for that question and so I just smile. Asked me if I have a boyfriend and I nod and say yes...
Sister Dominique: Is he waiting for you?
Me: Uhhmm.. Yes.. (smiling, while trying to choose from the crucifix pendants on display).
Sister Dominique: Ahh.. I see...
I first saw Sister Dominique at Paulines near The Cathedral, didn't know there's Paulines here in Macau too. She told me that there will be a mass at 6:00pm at the Cathedral and it was five minutes before six. She told me: Can't you hear the angels singing, telling you to go to the mass. Go there so that father will bless you... and so every Sunday I went there to attend the mass.
I remember as a child I use to say to my Lola that I wanted to be a nun when I grow up. She would say: Kinsa na mag-alaga sa amoa pag tigulang namo? Pag nursing na lang (Who would take care of us when we growl old, You should take up Nursing. Then I said: Sige (Okay). Hmm... I don't know what I was thinking back then or why have I said those things... Could this be my calling? *lol* I really don't know... Let's just wait and see... hehehe... By the way, I ended up taking Computer Engineering. hehehe...
Well, our conversation shifted to the place where we are, Macau. She talks about Macau's being tagged as Asia's Las Vegas. She told a story about a woman she saw outside the Church with her child. She was crying while holding her baby. They were suppose to go home to China but she found out that her husband wasted all their money in the casino. tsk... tsk.. tsk.. A lot of people are hooked up with casino games, mostly were Chinese and foreigners, there are also a few Filipinos too... She also talks about the people in San Ma Lo, how a lot of women are selling their bodies to earn a living. I've heard from other Filipinos about that too... She said I should be really careful when I go out and ask if my passport is still with me. A lot of people, even Filipinos would take that as a chance to grab some dime on you. But despite the issues surrounding this small place, you can still see a lot of people on the churches every Sunday to attend a mass, and most of them are Filipinos. She said there's still hope in this land as long as we hang on to God.
After paying for the things that I bought and after that little chit-chat, I bid Sister Dominique goodbye, but before that I took a picture of us... hehehe...

Breast Cancer Awareness Month
I've been tagged by Alritch to help spread the word on the ‘Breast Cancer Awareness’ month of June. I always wanted to support this kind of programs as it focuses on women's wellness.
• The first sign of breast cancer usually shows up on a woman's mammogram before it can be felt or any other symptoms are present.
• Risks for breast cancer include a family history, atypical hyperplasia, delaying pregnancy until after age 30 or never becoming pregnant, early menstruation (before age 12), late menopause (after age 55), current use or use in the last ten years of oral contraceptives, and daily consumption of alcohol.
• Early detection of breast cancer, through monthly breast self-exam and particularly yearly mammography after age 40, offers the best chance for survival.
• Ninety-six percent of women who find and treat breast cancer early will be cancer-free after five years.
• Over eighty percent of breast lumps are not cancerous, but benign such as fibrocystic breast disease.
• You are never too young to develop breast cancer! Breast Self-Exam should begin by the age of twenty.
Resources: American Cancer Society National Cancer Institute Komen FoundationYou can help the lives of many women by spreading the word aboutThe Breast Cancer Site pink button as many times as you can. If The Breast Cancer Site receives 8 million clicks on the pink button in June, their premier sponsor -Bare Necessities- will donate $10,000 for more free mammograms. CLICK the pink button today!

Grandia II
Finish playing this RPG on Dreamcast after how many days? Can't recall, hehehe... I just love playing this game, the graphics and animations are good and I like the songs too. I had a hard time playing this buut still I enjoyed it. Well, I don't know if there are still people who plays this or plays a game on Dreamcast. Mostly, people now have their own portable Playstation, Nintendo DS or Gameboy.
Screen shots I got on the net... =)
This war devastated the planet; it is said that Granas's sword created the Granacliffs, a series of giant cliffs across the face of the planet, as it fell from the sky. In legend, Granas defeated Valmar, but did not destroy him. Parts of Valmar's body, his essence, are stored all over the world in seals maintained by the church of Granas while Granas sleeps, regaining strength. Unfortunately, unknown to the general population of the world, Granas was actually killed by Valmar during the Battle of Good and Evil. Only a few individuals, mostly members of the church of Granas, are aware that Granas is actually dead and that Valmar was the winner of that war. It was decided long ago to conceal the truth of Granas's death to prevent the world from sinking into chaos and barbarism, as the population would know themselves to be effectively doomed. For an unknown reason, the church did not hide the fact that the moon of Valmar would appear in the sky to signal the dark god's revival. However, Granas left a powerful reminder of his legacy behind in the form of the Granasaber. [Source]

Davao Bloggers Party 2008
The party was held at last Saturday, June 14 at Toto's Bar, Casa Leticia, along J. Camus st., Davao City. I meet Jane at the People's Park, and the two of us are now ready to party? nahhh... We're both shy and a little nervous going there... but I guess it's time to be away from our computers once in a while and get our butts out to the real world.
We were late but the party haven't started yet and they're still waiting for the others to arrive. The place was cool and cozy, there were already a few people around when we arrived. I was looking for faces that are familiar to me but can't find one. Ria, Migs and Blogie welcome us and they were friendly as well as the other bloggers, though I haven't got the chance to really mingle with some of them, I found them nice to be with. Jane had to go outside and she just come back after the party has ended... waaahhh... She leave me alone there, I was having second thoughts on going out too, but I don't want to look like I'm not interested or something when I really do. Well, i decided to stay though I felt like melting there... lolz... I really wanted to roam around and take pictures but was really shy to do so...
The party was great and everyone had fun, Migs' a good emcee. The food were all great and the prizes too! I really didn't expect that I would win something hehehehe... Cute noh? Actually, I am using it now.... Way too cool! Thanks for this pretty cool keyboard, I really love it...
I Hope I can still join if there will be another gathering like this... and I just hope that next time i would have the guts to roam around and talk to others. hehehe... 'til then... =)

Friday the 13th
"Live life to the fullest"Today is Friday the 13th. A lot of us freaked out when this day comes. Some believes that it is an unlucky day and afraid to go out and travel or do business transactions, while others don't even bother to think. Ever been curious when and where is it originated? Well, I tried to research and here is what I want to share with you.
The Day Jesus Was Crucified? Many Christians have long believed that Friday was unlucky because it was the day of the week when Jesus was crucified. The number 13 was believed to bring bad luck because there were 13 people at The Last Supper. Since there were 12 tribes of Israel, that number was considered lucky.
Roots in Norse Mythology
Thirteen was also a sinister number in Norse mythology. Loki, one of the most evil of the Norse gods, went uninvited to a party for 12 at Valhalla, a banquet hall of the gods. As a result, he caused the death of Balder, the god of light, joy, and reconciliation. Loki tricked Balder's blind brother, Hod, into throwing a sprig of mistletoe at Balder's chest. Since mistletoe was the only thing on Earth fatal to Balder, the beloved god fell dead.
Literature and Folk Wisdom
During the Middle Ages, the superstition against Friday the 13th grew. On Friday, October 13, 1307, King Philip IV of France ordered the arrests of Jaques de Molay, Grand Master of the Knights Templars and sixty of his senior knights in Paris. Thousands of others were arrested elsewhere in the country. After employing torture techniques to compel the Templars to "confess" to wrongdoing, most were eventually executed and sympathizers of the Templars condemned Friday the 13th as an evil day. Over time a large body of literature and folk wisdom have reinforced the belief. In the 18th century, the HMS Friday was launched on Friday the 13th. It was never heard from again. Since then, ships are not usually launched on that date. (Click here for other mysterious ship disappearances.) [Source]
According to the Stress Management Center and Phobia Institute in Asheville, North Carolina, an estimated 17 to 21 million people in the United States are affected by a fear of this day. Some people are so paralyzed by fear that they avoid their normal routines in doing business, taking flights or even getting out of bed. "It's been estimated that [US]$800 or $900 million is lost in business on this day". Despite this, representatives for both Delta and Continental Airlines say that their airlines don't suffer from any noticeable drop in travel on those Fridays. [Source]

the five people you meet in heaven
I just finish reading Mitch Albom's "the five people you meet in heaven."
The story is about Edward (Eddie), a war veteran and a maintenance worker at Ruby Pier amusement park. He dies trying to save the life of a little girl from a falling ride. When he awakens in the afterlife, he encounters five people with ties to his corporeal existence who help him understand the meaning of life.
First Person: The Blue Man - The man who died trying to save little Eddie from from hitting his car.
Second Person: The Captain - Who sacrificed his life so Eddie and the other soldiers will survive.
Third Person: Ruby - Former owner of the Ruby Pier, who teaches Eddie to forgive his father.
Fourth Person: Marguerite - Eddie's beloved wife.
Fifth Person: Tala - The child whom Eddie saw and tried to save in the nipa hut in the Philippines.
A very nice and inspirational book... Not really a bookworm type of person but I find the book interesting on first glance... hehehe...
And now I am reading 'Shabanu' Daughter of the Wind by Suzanne Fisher Staples. I'll post the story about it when I'm done reading... *winks*

Butterfly Effect
"Live life to the fullest"Watched the Butterfly Effect the other day, it's a good movie. It's about a boy who blacks out frequently during his childhood to teenage years. And when he wakes up, he didn't remember a thing. It was during his college days when he figured out that when he reads from his journals, he travels back in time, and be able to redo parts of his past and thereby causing the blackouts he experienced as a child. As he attempt to mend the broken lives those of close to him, he finds that every trip into the past brings chaotic results into the present, leading him to travel back again and again and causing irreparable damage.
